Alcaidesa Links Golf Course

COURSE REVIEW

Hole 1 is a Par 4 and 346 metres (White Tees) and is SI 9
Place your ball on the left hand side of this amazing fairway; as you don’t want to start the ball out of bounds. This hole has a huge fairway to land your ball on.

Hole 2 is a Par 4 and 296 metres (White Tees) and is SI 7
This beautiful par 3. Take an extra club, you are better off long. On this hole you have to work your way through a system of trees; once you’ve done that you then have to hit the ball over a large pond to get to the green.

Hole 3 is a Par 3 and 191 metres (White Tees) and is SI 5
Don’t look for distance on your tee shot, a par is a great score. This hole is straighter forward than the first two but it still as difficult. With a narrower fairway, so accuracy is a must on this one. You also have to hit your ball over a little river that separates the fairway from the green.

Hole 4 is a Par 4 and 325 metres (White Tees) and is SI 13
Hole four is short but very hard. You have to be careful with this one; it is not as easy as it looks. With another river, surrounded by trees and bunkers, cutting through the middle of the fairway in half makes this hole a tough to get within par.

Hole 5 is a Par 4 and 336 metres (White Tees) and is SI 3
Straightforward par 4, club section is very important to an elevated green. This hole is much easier than hole 4 but it is an uphill fight to get to the green. With only one or two trees on the fairway you should have no problem getting close to the green, the challenge of this hole is getting your ball over the large bunker between the fairway and the green.

Hole 6 is a Par 5 and 472 metres (White Tees) and is SI 11
Par 5, is slightly uphill and big hitters will get home in two. The narrow green is well protected with bunkers. With a narrow fairway to match the green this will take some first class hand-eye coordination, and with bunkers placed around the green you will have to be careful not to tap the ball too hard.

Hole 7 is a Par 3 and 158 metres (White Tees) and is SI 15
Don’t get carried away with the views, this hole will catch you out. The fairway of this hole is easy enough but be careful with the green as it slopes downwards at the sides and the back of the green. To add to the difficulty of the green, there are bunkers at the bottom of the slopes.

Hole 8 is a Par 4 and 351 metres (White Tees) and is SI 1
On this hole there is trouble left and right. Bunkers protecting lay-up area, two big bunkers defending a very tricky green. 5 is a high score. Starting from as far back as you can its no wonder that it is a par 5 hole.

Hole 9 is a Par 4 and 311 metres (White Tees) and is SI 17
This hole is a card wrecker; making 3 is as easy as making 6. With rocks, trees, bunkers and slopes blocking your path to the green you will be lucky to get par. Not to mention that at the tee-off there is a hut to the right, so you have got to be careful you don’t hit the ball wrong and knock someone out.

Hole 10 is a Par 3 and 148 metres (White Tees) and is SI 16
Longest par 4 on the course, with lots trouble to the right. Hitting the fairway is a must to ensure a good shot onto a small green. With four huge bunkers out-lining the fairway and the green it should be hard but the fairway is very wide. So you can go round the bunkers, just be careful on the green.

Hole 11 is a Par 5 and 456 metres (White Tees) and is SI 14
This is a good recovery hole, just avoid the side bunkers. Although this hole looks like it is throwing everything at you, all the obstacles are set to the side of the fairway. You’ve just got to look out for the bunkers circling the green.

Hole 12 is a Par 4 and 379 metres (White Tees) and is SI 8
This is a great hole, but don’t be a hero. Play the hole as you see it going left is a big mistake. At the tee-off there are some trees blocking your view but once you’re past them you have just got to look out for a couple of bunkers and a slope at the green.

Hole 13 is a Par 4 and 421 metres (White Tees) and is SI 6
After you have finished taking photos of the spectacular views, get your head back to business. Out of bounds left, water hazards right, frontal hazards crossing the fairway. Don’t relax. Taking 5 is a great score.

Hole 14 is a Par 5 and 479 metres (White Tees) and is SI 10
Short par 3, doesn’t miss green right. You have a clear area at the tee-off but that’s all you have got, with three massive ponds slicing the hole in two and a small green to aim for with a slope behind and a bunker in front. This hole may trick you by seeming short but stay alert.

Hole 15 is a Par 3 and 153 metres (White Tees) and is SI 18
Easy par 5, a good drive you a chance for going in two. Any doubts just lay-up. This hole is ready for a nuclear war. Every bit of fairway has something on it, which includes a slope leading to a pond.

Hole 16 is a Par 4 and 360 metres (White Tees) and is SI 2
Just hit green for an easy par 3, it will surprise you how quickly it can complicate. From the tee it may seem easy but with that field of bushes right in the middle it is a possibility your ball might get lost. Once past the bushes, it is just a gentle slope in front of the green for you to push up.

Hole 17 is a Par 3 and 158 metres (White Tees) and is SI 12
Take an iron for your tee shot, green well protected by a long bunker on the left hand side. This hole is fairly easy once you have got past the area of bushes, just avoid the bunkers.

Hole 18 is a Par 4 and 382 metres (White Tees) and is SI 14
Out of bounds right, fairway bunker left. A good drive gives you an easy shot to an easy green. With nothing in your way apart from one bunker at the green, you can easily get par or under.
