Santana Golf Course Review
Hole 1 is a Par 4 at 291 (Metres) from the White Tees
and S.I.13
Santana Golf and Country starts with a relative simple Par 4 with a slight
dog leg to the right. The fairway is framed by avocado trees and the green
is slightly elevated and protected by bunkers.
Hole 2 is a Par 3 at 151 (Metres) from the White Tees
and S.I.9
The first Par 3 at Santana appears quite easy but demands a lot of respect.
Aim for the middle of the green and forget about the position of the flag.
Hole 3 is a Par 4 at 375 (Metres) from the White Tees
and S.I.7
From an elevated tee and a fairway that slopes from left to right, hit
a good drive left of centre. The approach shot must be very precise due
to the position and characteristics of the green.
Hole 4 is a Par 5 at 547 (Metres) from the White Tees
and S.I.3
This is probably Santana’s signature hole and most definitely one
of the best
new holes on the most recent additions to Costa del Sol Golf. The excellent
of the natural features have been made on this very challenging Par 5.
Keep left to avoid the bunkers, aim second shot towards the right and
hit the third shot straight into the putting surface avoiding the stream
created by the River Ojen approx. 65 yards from the green.
Hole 5 is a Par 4 at 314(Metres) from the White Tees
and S.I.11
A good tee short is essential for Santana’s 5th hole, so aim for
the middle of the fairway and don’t carry the bunker. The three
tiered undulating green makes club selection crucial and will test the
putting ability of any player.
Hole 6 is a Par 4 at 332 (Metres) from the White Tees
and S.I.17
Dog-leg left. Brave players who try and fly over the cork tree on the
left can set up and easy second shot, so here is a great chance to make
birdie. However, on reaching the green study the contours carefully.
Hole 7 is a Par 3 at 184 (Metres) from the White Tees
and S.I.5
The River Ojen comes into to play here on the right of Santana’s
second Par 3. The same stream that guarded the 4th hole so well also guards
this tricky par 3 where the wind could also play a big decision on your
club selection.
Hole 8 is a Par 5 at 585 (Metres) from the White Tees
and S.I.1
The longest hole at Santana will favour the big hitters. Play up to the
left hand-side of the fairway this will give you a much wider approach
to the green.
Hole 9 is a Par 4 at 348 (Metres) from the White Tees
and S.I.15
A gentle uphill Par 4 with a wide fairway. The green can be easily reach
as long as you do not stray too far from the fairway.
Santana Golf Golf Course Review by Golf Holidays Abroad Ltd
Hole 10 is a Par 5 at 444 (Metres) from the White Tees
and S.I.4
The second nine at Santana opens up with a generously wide par 5 and
overwhelming scenic beauty. Play to the right of the bunker, followed
by a second shot just short of the lake. The deceptive long green is protected
by some dangerous bunkers.
Hole 11 is a Par 4 at 274 (Metres) from the White Tees
and S.I.8
Dog-leg to the right. Tee shot must avoid the bunkers. A demanding second
shot requires good club selection along with accuracy towards an elevated,
triangular shaped green well flanked by bunkers.
Hole 12 is a Par 3 at 159 (Metres) from the White Tees
and S.I.10
Challenging Par 3 that is played downhill towards a very large undulating
green, with bunkers on the left and a very severe drop into the eucalyptus
trees behind the green.
Hole 13 is a Par 4 at 343 (Metres) from the White Tees
and S.I.14
Uphill tee shot. Make sure you take an extra club on the second shot.
The sloping green is well protected left and right and difficult to putt.
Hole 14 is a Par 4 at 287 (Metres) from the White Tees
and S.I.18
Straight Par 4 with a narrow approach to the green that is guarded by
bunkers. There is no problem of the tee and a very good chance of a birdie
here.
Hole 15 is a Par 5 at 494 (Metres) from the White Tees
and S.I.6
Slightly uphill tee shot with bunkers on the right that are not visible
form the tee. Play the second shot to the centre of the fairway avoiding
the see of bunkers. The approach to the green must avid the lake on the
right.
Hole 16 is a Par 3 at 144 (Metres) from the White Tees
and S.I.16
The final par 3 at Santana is very testing with a big bunker on the right
and even bigger lake on the left. The putting green is equally treacherous
with various curves and undulations.
Hole 17 is a Par 4 at 326 (Metres) from the White Tees
and S.I.12
Shot Par 4 with a vicious dog-leg right. Get the tee shot correct and
the approach shot should be a short wedge the green for a birdie chance.
Hole 18 is a Par 4 at 388 (Metres) from the White Tees
and S.I.2
The closing hole at Santana Golf and Country club is one of the best and
hardest on the course. The lake on the right and the avocado trees on
the right make for a very narrow entrance. The second shot requires extreme
accuracy to get the ball to the tricky elevated green.
